BIS, BISS,Ch. Tickitbou's Caution Black Ice, CDOM (pedigree)

We felt Ice was far too special to be merely included in "Our Girls" page, so we decided to give her, her own page.  Ice was a 2nd generation Tickitbou dog, bred from the incredible sire, Am, Can Ch. Elharlen's Your Choice CSOM and Ch. Tickitbou's Angel in th'Outfield CDOM.  She was not the prettiest puppy in the litter, but she demanded your attention.  As a youngster, she left much doubt as to weather she would indeed have a place at Tickitbou, or would she move on to a pet home.  Each time I came close to placing her, something made me change my mind.  Around 5 months of age, the ugly duckling started to show promise.  Wally took her to a match to see how she would show.  I was at home with a sick baby and therefore couldn't attend  I really didn't expect great results!  Much to my surprise, they came home with Best In Match!  A star was born!

Ice's first show was Ontario Breeders, and at just 6 months of age She went BOW both days she was entered.  She finished her Championship at the next show she attended, Champlain Kennel Club.  This is where Ice truly learned to shine.  That weekend she  won more than just ribbons.  She won lifetime fans.  Both Eve Whitmore and Morley Thorton noticed Ice that weekend and awarded her with group 2nd and Best Puppy In Show.  Both these judges have made a point on commenting on Ice's beauty and presence when ever they see her.

Ice racked up multiple Breed wins, Group placings, and Best Puppy In Shows that summer, and was always on her game.

Bruce Voran was judging the Canadian National that year, and I must say I wasn't really excited about going.  I always thought of Bruce as a "Fawn" judge, so showing my very black brindle, puppy special to him, didn't give me much hope of being noticed.  Boy was I wrong.  The moment Ice walked in the ring he didn't take his eye's off her.  I do have to admit I was taken by surprise when he pulled myself and Shirley Bell's special out to the center of the ring to compare the two dogs.  I was out handled!!  I still didn't believe that he was interested in Ice.  The day ended with Shirley winning breed, and Ice receiving 1st award of merit and Best Puppy in Specialty.

Ice finished off the year as Boxer Club of Canada's Best of Opposite to Best of Breed Dog Award, with most of her wins accumulated as a puppy.

Ice went on to win many more awards after that.  Shown sparingly, she has collected multiple specialty ribbons, several group wins and the coveted Best In Show.

Ice's next career was in the whelping box.  She was bred back to her father in 2004 and from that litter, 4 champions were produced.  All of those offspring had notable wins on route to their Championship.  Multiple puppy groups, Puppy in shows, specialty wins included.  Ice was Boxer club of Canada's Dam of the year for 2004.

Ice was also bred to Ch. BISS BIS Storybook Crazy For Tickitbou, which produced 3 Champions, BIS, BISS Am. Ch. Capri's WoodEnd Spellcaster which produced 4 champions and also earned her another Dam of the year award.  Ice was bred one last time at the age of 5 to BIS Ch. Elharlen's Quest SOM, which produced 1 champion and 1 waiting in the wings.  This gave Ice a total 12 Champions, making her what we believe to be, the top producing dam in Canadian history.

At 8 years of age, Ice was awarded the one ribbon that had eluded her.  Best In Specialty.  She did it at the Boxer Club of Canada Region Specialty held in Oshawa Ontario under Breeder Judge, John Keil, and she did tit from the veterans class.

Tickitbou Boxers owes more that words can say to this incredible girl.  At 9 year young, she has the energy of a 2 year old and if she had things her way, she would be in the show ring every weekend.

We love you Ice!

Ice is pictured here at 1 week shy of her 9th birthday.  She is photographed leading me around the ring at the Boxer Club of Canada National Specialty.

She still has it!
